Welcome to the Cattlemen's Young Leaders

Like us on Facebook! The Cattlemen’s Young Leaders (CYL) Development Program provides industry-specific training and mentorship to assist the Beef industry into the future.

This program provides a combination of formal and informal opportunities to learn from existing beef cattle industry leaders and other youth organizations undertaking mentorship opportunities.

Young producers between the ages of 18 and 35 years have a chance to participate in provincial, national and international high level discussions that define the direction and future of the Canadian cattle & beef industry. Providing participants with a chance to explore a potential career choice or rewarding provincial/national producer organization involvement, while gaining essential business connections and learning tools along the way.

"What an opportunity I have had to work with Dr. Craig Dorrin and Dr. Mike Jelinski. This mentorship wasn’t just for part of a year, but one that will last forever. I'm still taking part in events that my mentors recommended.” - Ricki Fleming

“Working with Dianne Finstad as my mentor was a life-changing experience. It solidified my decision to make a career out of communicating agriculture and the cattle industry to the public, and provided me with invaluable contacts. My CYL mentorship opened countless doors for me and continues to provide me with outstanding opportunities in my field of interest.” – Rosie Templeton
