Welcome to the Cattlemen's Young Leaders
The Cattlemen’s Young Leaders (CYL) Development Program provides industry-specific training and mentorship to assist the Beef industry into the future.
This program provides a combination of formal and informal opportunities to learn from existing beef cattle industry leaders and other youth organizations undertaking mentorship opportunities.
Young producers between the ages of 18 and 35 years have a chance to participate in provincial, national and international high level discussions that define the direction and future of the Canadian cattle & beef industry. Providing participants with a chance to explore a potential career choice or rewarding provincial/national producer organization involvement, while gaining essential business connections and learning tools along the way.
Breeanna Kelln (2015/16 CYL) and Brodie Haugan (2013 CYL Graduate and current Young Cattlemen’s Council Vice President) attended the Five Nations Beef Alliance conference in October with CCA’s Dennis Laycraft, John Masswohl, Dave Solverson and Dan Darling. This year Mexico hosted the conference in Durango and Mazatlan
The 2015/16 CYLs have been paired with their mentors and are working on their goals for the year. If you are attending upcoming industry events there’s a good chance you will see them there!
CYL graduates and semi-finalists gathered in Saskatoon March 26-28 for the Spring Forum complete with tours, speakers, round tables and of course Selections and Graduation. Congrats to the 2015 graduates pictured to the right and to the 2015/16 CYLs selected from a talented group of semi-finalists. For more information click HERE
